The Ingredients and What You Need to Know
This delight has a fascinating history: hazelnut and cocoa spread was born in Piedmont way back in 1806.
Due to a Napoleonic blockade that made cocoa extremely expensive, Piedmontese pastry chefs had the ingenuity to "cut" it with the abundant local hazelnuts. And so Gianduja was born! Our recipe makes it even more special with the addition of crunchy toasted hazelnut crumbs.
