The Super Tuscan Vigorello di San Felice is an icon of Tuscany, a wine that has marked the history of Italian winemaking. Born in 1968 as the first "Super Tuscan", Vigorello continues to amaze with its elegance, complexity and unique character.
Super Tuscan Vigorello is a Bordeaux blend with a touch of Tuscany. Produced on the Tenuta San Felice estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga, this wine is made from a careful selection of Pugnitello, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes, grown with passion and respect for nature. The 2020 vintage, marked by a mild winter and early budding, put the Sangiovese vines to the test, reducing yields. However, the spring and summer, not excessively hot, allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
Tasting notes: Poured into the glass, the Super Tuscan Vigorello wine presents itself with an intense and deep ruby color, with slight garnet reflections. On the nose, it is an explosion of aromas: notes of blackcurrant jam intertwine with hints of sweet spices, such as cinnamon and vanilla, and a touch of undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is warm and enveloping, with important but well-integrated tannins and a balanced acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant return of fruit and spices.
Pairings: ideal with important meat-based dishes, such as grills, roasts, game and mature cheeses. Try it with a fillet with green pepper or with a pecorino di fossa.
Fun fact: Super Tuscan Vigorello was the first Tuscan wine to break with the tradition of Chianti Classico, introducing international vines such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A wine that has marked the history of Italian winemaking.

San Felice, a name that echoes through the Tuscan hills, synonymous with winemaking excellence. Born in the heart of Chianti Classico, this historic winery safeguards a heritage of tradition and innovation, spanning 1700 hectares of land, 185 of which are devoted to vineyards. Since 1968, when it gave birth to the first Chianti Classico Supertuscan, Vigorello, San Felice has distinguished itself through its dedication to quality and research. The commitment to enhancing Sangiovese, the emblematic grape of the region, is reflected in prestigious labels like 'Il Grigio' Riserva and Gran Selezione and 'Poggio Rosso' Gran Selezione, acclaimed by international critics and featured in the rankings of top wine magazines. But San Felice is much more than a winery. The Vitiarium, an experimental vineyard dedicated to preserving indigenous Tuscan vines, bears witness to the company's commitment to biodiversity. Over the years, San Felice has broadened its horizons, extending production to Montalcino with the acquisition of the Campogiovanni estate in 1981, and to Bolgheri with the Bell'Aja brand in 2016. Today, the winery continues to shape the history of Italian wine, uniting tradition, innovation, and respect for the terroir. Discover the wines of San Felice and be captivated by the authentic taste of Tuscany.
